Guess what we went to see today. (I learned how to recognize his cartouche.)

We had dinner at Medieval Times, for kid brother's sake. How do you know your knight is going to win the tourney? Sit in the same section as a bus load of elementary school kids. :D

Tonight's rolled cookies night. How to tell if you are out of orange extract? If, when you are trying to unscrew the bottle to check, you drop it and there is no liquid among the shards on the floor, then there is none left. (My wrist just gave out on me. x___X)

We're trying turbinado sugar, which is dreadfully tasty. I've never baked with it before.

...You have awakened a huge wave of nostalgia.

I used to go to Medieval Times so often as a kid. ;_; My favorite was the Black and White Knight, because I liek templars. h-he threw me a rose ;_;

It just so happened that we were in the black and white knight's section. This was mainly because the black and white section is near the center, and we wanted a good view of everything.

It's the second time I've been and I still haven't gotten a carnation. I continue to feel let down. (We don't really have an excuse to go at third time, I don't think, even if the horses are pretty.)

Turbinado is yes. I use it at work. It is capable of death by sweetness.

A lot of restraurants back home have it in sugar packets, so I've tasted it before. I had originally bought it to use to top the cookies, but I threw it in instead of the regular granulated on whim.

I think that it might have been a better idea to go with the granulated for in the cookies, or at least ground it first, but I mixed the sugar with a little bit of sea salt for the topping, and that turned out very nicely.

(I also tried out this short bread recipe for the first time and it was kind of beautiful. ;_____; I consider cookies a serious sport.)
