A list of intrinsically funny things
breadfruit
small animals wearing clothing
kazoos
emus
llamas
the word "mongoose"
purple cows
indoor tanning salons
q tips
People saying "NANI?!?!" really loudly. Funnier if in person. Kind of sad if in fanfic. Funniest if speaker is adolescant male.
Chinese finger traps
frog-shaped coinpurses
relighting birthday candles
small springer spaniels with pretentious names
the wave
pancakes with whipped cream smiles
headbands with those springs with shapes on the end. Those antenna things
I found the cutest shoes today. At Ross, of all places- you can almost never find shoes there. (I do a surprising amount of shopping at Ross for someone whose wardrobe mainly comes from department stores. Or rather, I do a lot of shopping at department stores for someone who shops at Ross.) The're brown sueude shoes with a heel that's taller than I'm used to. However, they also have a fake fur trim and two fur pom poms hanging from the side. They go well with jeans. They'd go well with a skirt. They were adorable.
I spent the better part of an hour waving them around, then wearing them as my feet ached. All the time, cooing over how cute they were. I felt like such a girl.

Date: 2005-09-08 02:07 pm (UTC)Of course, these are the same adolescent males that cheerfully wear shirts that proclaim things such as 「うるさい」or 「やかましい」or 「あたまがかたい」despite knowing perfectly well what they mean (as the translations are printed quite tastefully on the back of the shirt.)
Of course, my aunt who doesn't seem to know any Japanese at all knows what yakamashii means because that's what mom (by mom I mean my grandmother) used to call her.
Then again, mom (by mom, I mean my mom) usually calls us "urusai" and thinks the yakamashii on my brother's shirt is kind of ironic, considering how much he speaks.
