Kid brother got an Ipod Nano for Christmas. Only 2 gigs, but there was also a $25 ITunes gift card.
But then again, it wasn't from our parents, so Mom and Dad kind of went 0___O;; and wondered about how they would be able to balance it in the tangled web of gift giving karma that runs in our families.
(In the cosmic balance of things, I got the entire collection of Monty Python's Flying Circus on DVD and compliments on my taste in earrings. Speaking of which, I managed to break the pair that I bought on Wednesday already, but it looks fixable.)
Today we went to visit my (late) great aunt's ex-roommate, a very nice old lady who happens to be a heck of a lot more interesting than my great aunt used to be. We only tend to see her on special occaisions, but it's nice to drop by occaisionally. The last time I had seen her was for her birthday a little before I left for Japan.
Today she said that she had her son pick up a present for me, a ..something maki, I couldn't quite make out what she said. (Half of the conversation tends to run in Japanese. I think mom is kind of used to things like this, because it's what she does at work. It's fun, though.) All I could gather was that it was probably some sort of wrap that was somewhere behind her. I desperately hoped it wasn't that silky looking scarf thing that was tied to the bed's railing. But than she said that the "cover" was somewhere in a bag behind her. The table happened have several bags, which meant that mom had an interesting time trying to figure out what exactly she was supposed to be looking for. Mom had to lean over the (empty) bed to reach the table.
It turned out that it was a Roxy knit scarf. It looks to be warm! ♥ *still doesn't know why a brand associated with surfer girls makes ski clothes, but is not complaining too much*
Brother: Yesterday, when we went out to dinner, I drew a really great picture of Cthulu.
Vernicious Canid: I drew the background!
