One of my teachers is giving us extra credit for participating in a study. And goodness knows, I need the participation point.

So, I'm writing a one page "love letter" to a company of my choice. And not wanting to write two pages about food. (I MISS YOU TOYOS. I MISS YOU SO MUCH, WE CAN'T GET THOSE CUTS OF MEAT ANYMORE.)

Dear Nintendo,

Thank you for the endless hours of enjoyment that you have provided me with. Sure, we have made fun of the missteps that you have sometimes made and we still aren't quite sure why you deemed it necessary to dub your newest release the "wii," even though it is a very cute name and after laughing, we have decided that we like it very much.

(We also liked the Super Scope quite a bit and for all that it sucked at aiming, spent many a happy five minutes posing in the mirror with it. It made us very happy.)

You have brought us closer to our siblings, for all that our siblings do to annoy us, they do get your consoles and games as presents and we enjoy the way that your handhelds often come in 3 colors - one for each of us. Having the kids play videogames keeps us from attempting to murder each other in airports. Now, the only fights are over who gets which game cartridge, whihc often leads to the ineveitable conclusion - getting multiple cartridges of the same game.

In fact, my youngest brother made a Christmas ornament out of a Fire Emblem game ox. (I cannot recall offhand whether the series is a Nintendo-owned title, but the 4th installment was on the SNES and the first was on the NES, so I suppose that it is closely tied enough. The characters did appear in Super Smash Bros., after all.) When I saw that on the tree, coming home for Christmas that year, it gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling, really.

I find the durability of your handhelds to be quite imppressive. I have dropped my gameboy SP more times than is funny, and it never broke on me. I had friends tell me tales of how their game boy got stuck in a flooded bus. They dried it out and it was fine; for an electronic device, such a thing is quite impressive. I'm currently playing your newest handheld, the DS Lite, and it has survived being dropped out of bed multiple times. When you take the fact that my bed is a bunkbed and I sleep on the top bunk into effect, that is damn impressive. The DS has two screens, one a touch screen and it still works like a charm. ♥

My friends and I like to joke that Nintendo should make laptops, but if you did, I'd want one. I'd love to have my next laptop be by Nintendo; it would be indestructable. (Pearl Blue would be awesome. Also, if you had done the Pearl Blue DS Lite stateside, that would have also been kind of hot. My relatives don't really do imports, so they got me Coral Pink.) (Okay, they Gameboy Light was an import, but that's just because you should have come out with the backlight sooner. And then the Color came out and made it obsolete, but for the black and white games? The Light was pretty and glowed blue, why didn't it have a US release? It was awesome.)

Please keep coming out with cool stuff that I can steal from my borthers. Or a DS web browser that costs less than $60, because that is what it cost at the import shop and I'm not spending that much to pictochat in the student union.

♥ always,
Me.

PS. We visited your headquarters once while on vacation. The one in Kyoto. We have pictures outside. ♥

(Do you do tours? We didn't know.)

Well, I'm pretty sure that Nintendo received worse.

Yes, but I'm getting extra credit for this. I haven't actually tried to molest the wii. I'm sure it's possible. :')

Last time I made sugar cookies, I used orange extract instead of vanilla, which was really lovely.

(They were stained glass cookies, and at the moment, I'm going la;eirjels where did I put the pictures?)
