The earrings that I bought today were really pretty.
Originally, I had not intended to buy earrings at all- I intended to buy video games. However, it just so happened that the supermarket with one of the few locations of my bank that were open this afternoon was sponsering a craft fair. Set up, right inside the door, was a table with a woman who made earrings out of dichroic glass. I love dichroic glass, even if I had previously been under the impression that it was called "dichromic."
My new earrings flicker between blue and green in the light. They're very opalescant.
I also meant to buy a hat from some webcomic I've never heard of. The creaters were at our local library today, and the presentation just happened to be at the time Mom went to pick up some books she reserved. But what was really important was that the librarian was wearing this hat. (The librarian couldn't remember what the hats ran for, but she thought they were about $15-20. Mom goes 「高い!」 at me. I go ":[" at Mom.)
We couldn't stay for the talk, but we were planning to stop by a shop accross the street from one that carried the hats. I was really going to buy one, even if the weather doesn't work for it, because the hats fit well and angry puppies are very, very cute, but we ended up bypassing that stop on account of smoothies. Maybe next time.
Also:
Mom: *agrees to let kid brother drive from grandparents house to library.*
Me: By the way, if I die, can you let my friends know that I'm dead? DX
Mom: Yes. Don't talk about those things.
[The car pulls out and it is steady, but a bit WOBBLY. I am NOT AMUSED.]
Mom: You'll have to do the same for me. *proceeds to list names*
Me: 'kay.
Brother: Would you two shut up?
