My family is...um.. well.
Aug. 11th, 2006 04:37 amThis week was kind of hectic for reasons that I cannot think of any way to tastefully explain.
I got in on Tuesday morning.
On Satuday, I campaigned for a spontaneous trip to the zoo. Since we were at the beach at the time (Dad wanted to swim laps) and had alreadly gotten parking, I won. I really wanted to see the tigers and Daddy really wanted to see the Komodo dragons. We ended up seeing just about everything except the tigers, who were unobliging. Admittedly, the sun bears were also hiding. Most of the other animals had chosen places quite near the fences to hang out, so it was very easy to see them. The Nile Crocodile, suprisingly, decided to come right up to glass, almost as if it were posing for pictures.
On Sunday, I went to my second cousin's graduation party, which was entertaining.
Yesterday, I went with one of my friends to go pester teachers at our old high school. Some of them were gone, but there were still a lot of people that we knew still there. One of our old English teachers was absent that day, but we were let into her classroom so we could draw all over her whiteboard. >D (I ended up filling in the definition for metaphor, because the definition for similie was already written there. It was a knee-jerk reaction.) The art teacher had forgotten our names, but when you consider that the last class I had with her was in Jr high, it's not so unusual. (Also, I was wearing my hair up, which I did all of once during my high school career.)
It's kind of fun to go back, because then you get to gossip. ("I had Hawaiian during elementary school, but I didn't really pay attention." "Yes, you were rather notorious for that.")
We were told that they still talk about us, though I'm not quite sure whether that was good or bad.
Next Sunday, I have a funeral to attend, but the Brain's Court of Honor is on Saturday. I fly out on Monday. Argh.

Date: 2006-08-16 10:59 am (UTC)*complex explaination ommitted, read "My ex-classmate's mother"* brought a photograph of the entire troop from six years ago. By chance, the four boys happened to be standing together in the front row. Then everyone (read: all of the mothers) agreed that it really was quite a coincidence and that the vernicious canid really does look like the Brain did when he was younger.
She made me try to guess which one of the two was in the photograph, while covering up everyone else's face, but I was able to tell easily, due to tanning and the fact that the vernicious canid is shorter than the Brain was when the picture was taken.
(Out of curiosity, did you get it?)
