THIS IS A RECIPE FOR AWESOME CAKE. IT CAME FROM A RADIO STATION THAT GRANDMA USED TO LISTEN TO.

IT IS CURRENTLY MAKEING ME DRUNK-TYPE. THAT IS, TYPE LIKE I'M CRUIN...DRUNK. SWERIOUSLY, ITS' AWESOME AND I ONLY HAD A COUPLE OF PIECES.

Chocolate Chip cake
recipe from kzoo radio
Dark chocolate or yellow cake mix
1 bx instant chocolae pudding
1 c sour cream
1/2 c oil
1/2 cup instant coffee (strong)
1/4 cup rum
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup chocolate cips

mix all ingredients together except chips
put in 9/13 greased pan w/ flour $ sprinkel chips on top.
bake 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes
cool and sprinkle powdered sugar.

that's not much rum, but it might have simply been an excellent choice of rum but I looked and i can't find the proof so idk about how much rum it was.

edit: okay so I gogled it and it seems that the rum was 80 proof so imagine how much awesome this would be if we used sailor jerry's?

Were you drinking the rum while you were cooking? Usually baking with alcohol doesn't leave enough booze in the end product to do anything.

I know this is common knowledge, but having eaten their saucy baked good before, somehow they manage to preserve the booziness into the final product. It might be magic.

Huh, weird. I wonder if maybe the chocolate absorbs it instead of letting it evaporate off.

This cake was baked three days ago.

Seriously, I wasn't expecting any of the alcohol to be preserved, but trust me, it was there. (The only other cake with alcohol I've baked in recent memory involved pouring additional alcohol onto the cake afterwords, so it's hard to compare. THIS CAKE IS MORE DELICIOUS, THOUGH. You don't really taste the rum, you just feel it.)

I should buy some Tofutti sour cream so we can try this.

We were making burritos when Mom hit on the LET'S MAKE A CAKE idea. :3

(She used less chocolate chips than the recipe called for, but you can just put however much you feel like on top.)
