I reread Socks tonight, mainly because I found it on my bookshelf and why not?

It suddenly occurred to me that Rofl looks a lot like Socks, mostly because Socks is a Gray tabby and Rofl tried to be a gray tabby and failed.

It's a little disturbing because Socks is clever and Rofl is breathtakingly stupid.

I also shouldn't be allowed near my credit cards at this time in the morning, because I put in an order to BPAL. I wonder if they still throw in free extra imps. .___.

oh, awesome.

I ordered...ahhh, more than I ought. ^^;;

1 ALICE
Curiouser and curiouser. Milk and honey with rose, carnation and bergamot.

2 CHESHIRE CAT
Grapefruit, red currant, dark musk, Roman chamomile, delphinium, and lavender.

3 THE DORMOUSE
A dizzying eddy of four teas brushed with light herbs and a breath of peony.

4WHITE RABBIT
Strong black tea and milk with white pepper, ginger, honey and vanilla, spilled over the crisp scent of clean linen.

5 KYOTO
A gentle, soothing blend of cherry blossom, white sandalwood and star anise.

6 KUMIHO
crisp white tea and ginger.

7 DESDEMONA
sweet pea, carnation and water lily.

8 KATHARINA
white musk with a trickle of bright, sharp apricot and orange blossom.

9 REGAN
A deceptively sweet orchid vanille with a faint trace of stephanotis.

10 AIZEN-MYOO
Yuzu, kaki, and mikan with cherry blossom and black tea.

11 PELE
muguet and Hawaiian white ginger enveloped by warm, damp tropical blooms.

12 AKUMA
Devilish temptation, as sweet as sin: blood orange, neroli, and raspberry.

13 SHANGHAI
The crisp, clean scent of green tea touched with lemon verbena and honeysuckle.

14 HELLCAT
A soft, sensual, luxuriant blend with a wicked bite: hazelnut, buttercream, honey mead, rum and sweet almond.

The Shakespeare ones are because [livejournal.com profile] zionga ordered a bunch of imps mostly from the Illyria set and I borrowed one that didn't quite work out on her. It remember really liking it, but I can't, for the life of me, remember what it smelled like, let alone what it was called.

that's... not too bad actually. i really like hellcat but akuma didn't work on me, though the scent notes sound like it should :(
aizen-myoo, kumiho and the dormouse are on my own wishlist, so let me know how they smell? ^^
there's a huge secondary market for bpal imps and bottles so if there's anything you don't like, it's easy to swap/sell them off!

I like the scent of raspberries, so I'm hoping akuma will work out. Actually, after I chose a few off the tea party list, which was because I adore alice, I went mostly with things I thought might smell nice. Which ended up being a lot more tea, so I hope that works out for me.

I think the milk in Alice might be interesting, and if the stephanotis is the flower I think it is, then I wore it at my graduation. It's really lovely- I'd actually prefer it over orchid as a main note. But this is the first time I'm experimenting, so I'm looking forward to finding out.

I'll let you know how the ones you're interested in turn out. I've noticed the swaps, but I'm not sure what I'll do about it. (Although I've just looked at your wishlist and I'm very regretful that I missed the shunga series, as it looks like it's stuff that I'd be kind of into.)

are you buying bottles? because if you are getting imps then the lab doesn't do imps for the limited edition scents anyway, and most people join a decant circle for them. there're lots of unwanted shungas on the market right now so if you really want them you can still get them!

I'm looking at them and it looks like there's a lot of terminology that I'm just not getting. (Decants are the same size as imps, but from the bottles, right? I looked into BPAL a couple of years back, but never did anything beyond borrowing the imp for one night.)

On one hand, I don't want to rush into anything until I try out the ones I already have. On the other hand, tuberose. >_________>;;

Decants are basically imps, but ones people make out of their own bottles. Also try [livejournal.com profile] sinandsalvation. they have price caps.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm probably going to wait until I start figuring out which notes work for me before I order any more, though.

(Although the one that's supposed to smell like a Japanese shrine is tempting...but that kind of incense reminds me more of funerals. My family only really uses it at funerals or while visiting the cemetery.)
