Yeah, most of them don't.

Of course, these are the same adolescent males that cheerfully wear shirts that proclaim things such as 「うるさい」or 「やかましい」or 「あたまがかたい」despite knowing perfectly well what they mean (as the translations are printed quite tastefully on the back of the shirt.)

Of course, my aunt who doesn't seem to know any Japanese at all knows what yakamashii means because that's what mom (by mom I mean my grandmother) used to call her.

Then again, mom (by mom, I mean my mom) usually calls us "urusai" and thinks the yakamashii on my brother's shirt is kind of ironic, considering how much he speaks.
