Jun. 16th, 2007 11:00 pmI had my first facial today. It took a really long time.
And then we went to one of my parents friend's house where we had a long, enlightening discussion about underage drinking, especially at a college I had wanted to go to when I was looking at colleges.
They have a salamander. Apparently, it's good for making creme brulee. (They have a blow torch too, but I don't think my parents would let me have one of those. Life is unfair.)
Also:
Salad oil
Sesame Oil
Shoyu
Oyster Sauce
Rock Salt
Sugar (note (general): When using salt, add a little sugar. When using sugar, add a little salt.)
Garlic
Ginger
Remove garlic and ginger prior to cooking. Use to season oil (then discard.)
cook chicken, but not all the way through. remove. Vegetables, season with oyster sauce. Add chicken broth, water with cornstarch to thicken. Put chicken back.
For the cake noodles themselves, cook noodles, then fry on griddle.
