The Chinatown here was a dirty and somewhat foreboding place. It might have been because of the rain, and because we were there at twilight. It was too cold for there to be people randomly milling about. It was interesting to look at, with seemingly empty buildings and an odd feeling of isolation.
I rather enjoyed the trip, but we ended up eating elsewhere after all. It was odd, because I associate any Chinatown with food. Yokohama, back home, San Francisco. Well, I can only claim to have seen three.
Somewhat dirty, rather crowded, and excellent, excellent food.
Now I'm craving manapua again.
