Today we played "Jeopardy" in Anglo-American Law. It was kind of embarassing. *ended up winning due to the fact that I had to learn most of the answers in high school* The teacher had the second round which was about the Japanese government worth double, but we managed to nail one of the 1000 point questions, so ...Win. >D

After class, instead of dinner, I ended up going to tea with a couple of girls in the class. (We called it "tea," but the school cafe was closed, so we ended up not drinking tea. This was a dissapointment, as the school cafe's (Junge) parfaits are excellent.) This excursion was a direct result of the fact that at least one of the girls was not very good at English, though the fact that I come from Hawaii might have been a factor.

At one point, we end up talking about Nagoya's mascot fish, the sachihoko.(sp?) It occurs to me that I heard about said fish in Yakitate Japan, which segues into a question about what kind of manga I read. The reaction for most of it (Bleach, Meitantei Conan, Air Gear, even Ouran) is something along the lines of "Oh yeah," and they wanted to know if I knew about Dragon Ball Z and Nana, but when I brought up Penguin Kakumei, they kind of looked at each other and went "Otaku." XD

I protested weakly along the lines of "they give furigana and the pictures make it easy to understand," and claimed to only understand about half of it, but I'm not quite sure what they made of it.

After that, they went through the notebook that I was using to draw explainatory pictures in. (It ended up to be my notebook from comprehensive.) They were surprised that a saying (idiom?) with the word 「己」appeared, but I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe because it wasn't not the kind of thing a young person would use.

I finally tried on the ankle boots that I really liked today. They were a bit tighter than I would have liked, though that might have been because I was wearing socks. Still, I didn't think they were cute enough to justify spending 6800 yen on them. -______-

Instead, I bought earrings, which were very cute indeed. Two pairs are just very small studs, but the last pair is rather nifty. It's a pair of white rhinestone studs, one has a blue rhinestone butterfly dangling from it, with a chain that has two beads attatched to the backing, the other has a chain connecting the front and the back, with the same butterfly in the middle.
