Those of you who are not Daniel may safely ignore this post.
1. The higher the level you reach in Math, the funnier the jokes are.
2. If you have to explain it, the joke is not funny.
3. If people do not listen to the lead up to your joke, they probably will not find your joke funny.
4. Puzzled people cannot laugh.

Date: 2006-11-22 08:48 am (UTC)And yes, Daniel, with the exception of some of your Roguelike/NetHack humor, I tend to get most of the inane, dry, and intellectual nonsense that gets flung my way via the trebuchet known as the internet.

I'm sure that it was preceded by a joke of some sort, but, being engaged in other conversation, we were not listening to it at the time. Trying to explain the joke further doesn't really help if the people you are trying to tell it to haven't heard it in the first place. In fact, it tends to rather tick them off.
