Dec. 3rd, 2005 02:42 amThe ceiling light in my room has several settings. Most of the time, I use the switch, but if you should choose the string instead, you can cycle it through bright to dim to dark. I've been feeling sickly at the moment, so I'm using the string. It takes a little longer, but it works.
The setting I have it on now is "dim." It seems like a somewhat pointless setting, too dark to read by, too dark to do much of anything by- except, perhaps, find one's way to the door at night. (The bathroom lights are automatic sensors, but that is neither here nor there.)
It casts a dim orange glow- the kind which you might find in drinking establishments of questionable safety. Strangely easy on the eyes, but it gives the room a oddly quiet, you might even say relaxed, atmosphere.
In a light like this, it really does seem like it is after midnight.
