Nov. 4th, 2005 02:44 amYesterday, during a free period, I discovered that the school library has a collection of Roald Dahl's short stories, which surprised and delighted me. They're delightfully twisted little things. It included "Lambs to the Slaughter," which I am insanely fond of. Other than that, there was only one story that I had read before. Lucky~!
There was one piece about an automatic story writing device, which was rather frightening. That doesn't mean that I would not like to have one. ^^;;
The library has some art, distributed randomly about the building in the odd manner that one will often find in college libraries. I had known that there were paintings in the stairwell, but the bronze statue on the third floor surprised me. It looked like Rodin's style, which made it's positioning rather awkward. Imagine a giant nude on a pedestal tucked into the corner by the copy machine! It wasn't like they were trying to hide it, at least half of the floor is open study space.
(It's not really the fact that there's a giant nude statue in the library that gets me. It's the juxtaposition of images that is quite peculiar.)
