I read that it doesn't really have the sound locked in or out, but I figured that I needed access to ambient noise...to keep me from walking into traffic. >___>;;
It's a legitimate concern, seriously. Just ask Sam or Crys or Gen.
In a otherwise quiet room, sound leakage seems to be about the same as my last pair, which looked like these. Maybe slightly more, perhaps. I don't think that I keep my headphones particularly loud, but Mom says otherwise.
