Jan. 30th, 2009 01:42 amI think it's a problem with the power supply. By which I mean that the main problem here is that my computer isn't seeing it.
Actually, that's kind of a lie.
It's seeing glimpses of it occasionally, which usually involves holding the cord in a very exact position and not moving my hand. My guess is that the problem is from a) overheating, 2) the battery is getting really fucking old and is down to 30 minute's life, c) the ac adapter was a replacement (incidentally, because of the same problem,) and most likely d) I keep dropping the damn thing. My guess is that it's mostly d, though.
If it's electronic, it's probably going to end up on the floor. I think the only things I haven't dropped are the consoles.
Okay, the consoles and the kitchen appliances, but I'm pretty sure I remember the washer/drier slipping the time we tried to move them.
At any rate, I'm having trouble finding that magical place where my laptop actually charges and I've run out the last of the battery, so I can't even get the thing to boot. So it's probably just as well that I've picked out the laptop I'm buying on Saturday.
I'm looking forward to being able to have decent speed again. So not looking forward to Vista. (And here I was hoping that I could hold out until the next system and skip it like ME. I guess it's worth it to have more than one working USB port again...probably another victim of my luck with electronics.)
