Well, the good news is that our water heater seems to run on gas. I know our heat ought to as well, but apparently we can't have nice things like that.

I ended up sleeping in the graduate student's lounge, which did have rather nice sofas. It also had a few graduate students, but considering the circumstances, that was only to be expected. Still, I expected to be running on 8 hours of sleep right now, and I'm only on....I don't know, really. XD

Getting out of the pile of blankets in the living room this morning was really difficult. The shower really helped- I didn't feel warm again until I got in there. It's kind of cold again now, but I'm on the other side of today's final, and am considering....actually, I should move upstairs. This is a better chair, but the heating is better there. It's the windows. .____.

It turns out I rescheduled my appointment for tomorrow, not today, but I've managed to rereschedule, and am stuck here until 4:30 waiting for it, just in case something unexpected happens.

I think the Mini Maglite is the best thing that I've bought all week. I should have thought to grab the other two- I think I bought one of what was literally the last four flashlights in the store.

I was really lucky, I thought there were only purple ones left, and then I saw the blue one. It's already proven itself invaluable. It's quite bright, and I took a shower by it this morning- before we had anything resembling daylight. To put things into perspective, I left the thing on in candle mode, standing on the sink. They layout of the bathroom is such that the sink is on the other side of a small wall from the shower stall. (To approximate, shower |wall| sink. The shower is flush with the wall, but the sink is slightly recessed. It's a small second background.) The maglite still gave off enough light for me to see what I was doing. That's nothing short of amazing.

Did I mention that it's blue? And shiny? And very bright? :D

I should also try to locate my other flashlight while the light's still good, but mini-maglite~ ♥

Still on campus, but I've managed to locate Sam and Crys, who had been camping in the union. I finally broke down and bought lunch from Quiznos, even though I told myself I wouldn't. It was...decent, not great, but I don't feel too sick to my stomach, so alls well in the end. At the moment, I'm trying to amuse myself by trying to look up storeies playing on CNN. The only problem is they keep cutting back to these girls pole dancing on a train (video from youtube!) Boring.

I'm trying to find more info on some "foam incident" as the footage that I caught made it look like it was an awful lot of foam. It looked like it was at least half a football field, if not more. Also, some house exploded somewhere.

We've got a state of emergency (approved by the president,) and I've discovered that the 200,000 houses was only from one of the power companies, so the real number was about 3 times that. The interest rate is down, but we probably won't have any power for at least a few more days. Luckily, I have reason to spend copious amounts of time on campus. I'm so sleepy, but I can't sleep. DX

In other news, my hair still looks pretty good, although not as great as last night.
rhyme: (haerts - haruna)
They set out cereal and and melon and pizza and cookies and BOARD GAMES BECAUSE IT'S BOARD GAMES NIGHT. :D

I really wanted to play Candy Land last night- you can ask Sam or Crys I SAID SO and they had CANDY LAND and Gen won but I CAME IN SECOND and then we played Chutes and Ladders and I won that. /o/
