Jun. 7th, 2007 05:19 pmOkay, so grounded from internet yesterday, but I'm pretty sure I have a job, so ungrounded now! :D
So we decide to have manapua for lunch, and for whatever reason, Mom sends kid brother in to buy it. (To make this story make more sense, manapua is another name for nikuman or bao. Think steamed bread with a filling.) So we take a quick poll, Mom wants one, kid brother and I want 2 apiece. I tell him to get rice cake as well. Charsiu manapua.
There's no parking, so we circle the parking lot a few times, with all the other cars looking for parking. So he comes back with the bag, and says it cost eleven dollars and some odd cents. Meanwhile, mom's going "WHAT?" because each bun costs 85 cents, while each rice cake is about 55. So unless he got grossly overcharged, which shouldn't happen there, something was wrong.
Then we looked in the bag and found a tray of char siu. Way to go, kid. :')
