If I restart Pokemon Pearl multiple times and trade each starting pokemon to Diamond, can I trade the pokemon back, I wonder? >_____>

Yup, that can certainly be done. Just be careful, as the others may not listen to you much until you get more gymbadges. Traded pokemon are ornery like that. :\

Also, it's about half an hour of gameplay to get to a place where you can trade. Not too much, but enough to be annoying to do over and over.

I tried to get Cole or Crystal to help me do that. In the end, we ended up opting to pick different starters and breed 'em for everyone else. :B

On a related note, if you're interested, I can pass an egg containing a Chansey that knows Counter to you. Cole put one in daycare, and ended up with eight eggs in less than an hour. XD
