rhyme: (all about my evil plan)

something about driving me batty. I was a bat that year.

This is a story from when we were trick or treating the other year. (By the way, if you have a costume, it is a fun thing to do, because it is a mostly socially acceptable way to look at stranger's houses. Well, more so if you have small children handy.)

But anyway, at one house, there was a basket of candy on the door step, with a note. It read "Take between __x___ and __y___ pieces, but not __z__, never _____z_____." I remember being surprised, because ____z___ was the amount I had been intending to take.

I felt like it must have been a reference to something, but even google yielded no answers. It suddenly came to mind today, but I discovered, to my dismay, that I could not remember the numbers.

Just a guess because I've seen this game with numbers before. It was like, "pick a number between 1 and 4." Then, without fail, about 75% of people picked 3 and the person holding the game turned over the piece of paper and it said on the back, obviously already written, "why the fuck did you pick 3?"

Possibly completely unrelated, but it was the first thing that came to mind. >>

Yeah, it probably was something like that. I think it wasn't one or four, though, but 3 sounds about right. (If it was one and 4, I'd probably have chosen 2, although 3 is also a contender for vanity's sake. 3=Mi, after all.)

Actually, I kind of want to say that the range was 2-5, but when you think about it, that's a really ridiculous range.
