FYI: COOKING NOTES

- haven't tried it yet, but cola-cake looks like a success.
- OH LOOK, I BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW THIS, SAM. LOL SURPRISE. :')

I should bring back some for the house. Along with mirin. >>;;

[edit:] I have tried the cake and it is good. I bet it would be awesome if I used root beer.

All I know is that less of my hair has been falling out since I started eating less shit with MSG, okay. :')

Read how it says they include MSG in tons of stuff with other names. :')

[identity profile] hezul.livejournal.com 2007-05-03 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
I just did but okay, regardless?

I am still not seeing a reason to put more shit on food that tasted fine already. And chex mix? Tasted fine already, kthx.

My family's chex mix = better than.

[identity profile] hezul.livejournal.com 2007-05-03 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Do not insult my mother's chex mix or I'll flush your head down the toilet. :)

For future use/warning though! I don't know if your cake seems a bit sticky? I noticed it with the cupcakes. Though I doubt a cake/cupcakes will last that long around there :P BUT. After a few days the STICKY turns into ODDLY CHEWY. Dunno if it would've if I'd've thought to cover them in plastic wrap but >>

Unless of course you're not having the sticky issue, which just means I buggered up a bit?

What kind does she make?

My family's chex mix is a heart attack in a jar. :')

[identity profile] ririkit.livejournal.com 2007-05-03 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
It's not particularly sticky, as far as I can tell.

[identity profile] hezul.livejournal.com 2007-05-03 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know wtf you mean by what kind. It just is there. And good.

And usually spicy but she makes a less spicy version for me because she loves me.

I don't WANT heart attack in a jar, see. :')

[identity profile] robinhood.livejournal.com 2007-05-03 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
INTERESTING.

From what I remember, I'd imagine you'd notice so!

There's spicy and there's sweet.

My family's recipe is a little spicy and rather buttery. But not so spicy that I can't eat it. (I've made it once, so I know how much butter goes in it. The answer? A lot.)

Well, it's like the anecdote at the bottom: Just because it doesn't hurt doesn't mean you have to add it. But there's no reason to avoid it in the stuff you buy.

Heck, it lists mother's milk as being packed with the stuff, and my baby's about to get a whole bunch of it over the course of the next year.
